Classic McIntosh pieces like the MC-2205 continue to appreciate in value, making this not just an amplifier, but a long-term investment for serious audiophiles and collectors. Unit was serviced top to bottom locally at the McIntosh authorized service center. Bulbs were replaced, meters were cleaned, relay capacitors were replaced and the amp was given a clean bill of health and ready for another generation to enjoy. As it stands the unit meets all of the original specifications and did not need a full recap. Physically the amp looks beautiful without rust or dents. The glass is nearly perfect with only minor pitting around the headphone jack which is very common on these vintage units. Please see the images for more details.
